"The Original Six" members of the Horsey Crowd decided that we would have a week long holiday in the sun. After much debate and controversy Ayia Napa, Cyprus was chosen to be the destination. After a trip to the travel agent a hotel in Pernerea about ten miles from Ayia Napa was chosen to be the destination.

We were fortunate that our resort was located about 5 minutes from the beach. Hence a lot of water sports was taken in on this holiday. We all tried the paragliding, jet skiing and frequented the beach at least once every day. There was a swimming pool located in the resort as well where we hung out lying on floating sunbeds while our white skin burned under the Meditteranean sun.

Ayia Napa was a cool place to go out in. Many of the bars are worth a mentioning. Bedrock was a huge bar located wham bang in the center of the town. As the name suggests it was built up in the style of Bedrock from the Flintstones. Coyote Ugly's was another great bar where just like the film dancing on the counter was allowed and even promoted with free shots of what could be called orange juice with a splash of alcohol. Nevertheless it was done. O'Rourkes Irish Bar was the best of the two Irish bars, Luke Kellys pulling a lame second place.

After the nightclubbing etc. had been done a trip to River Reggae's was inevitable. This premises didn't close until at least six in the morning. It had an open air swimming pool located in the shape of a horseshoe with two telephone poles crossing it. The idea was to walk the pole without falling off. A possible task but the fun is better when you take the dip.

Ayia Napa wasn't that cheap, clothes etc. were't cheap there either but it is definitely the place to be if you want a holiday full of night life.
